Wind Energy Engineers

Wind energy engineers work in the field of renewable energy and are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining wind turbines and wind farms. Their work requires a moderate background in the geosciences and involves: 

  • Analyzing the wind resources in a given area to determine the most efficient location for a wind farm, as well as calculating the optimal size and number of turbines needed to generate sufficient power. 

  • Overseeing the installation and maintenance of wind turbines a This includes monitoring the performance of the turbines, troubleshooting any issues that arise, or researching and developing new technologies to improve the efficiency and reliability of wind energy systems. 

  • Working closely with other professionals such as environmental scientists, geologists, and civil engineers to ensure that wind farms are environmentally friendly and meet all regulatory requirements.  

  • Liaising with the public to address any concerns or questions about the wind farm’s impact on the local community.
