Agricultural Technicians

Agricultural technicians in the geosciences often in laboratories, offices, or outdoor settings. Their main responsibility is to assist agricultural and food scientists in their research and development activities. This requires a moderate background in the geosciences and may include:

  • Collecting and analyzing soil samples, measuring crop yields, and monitoring environmental conditions.

  • Maintaining equipment to ensure that data that is collected is accurate.

  • Conducting field work, such as planting and harvesting crops, and assisting with experiments. This may also require preparing related reports.
